PET Scan Results are in - Good News!

Thanks for all the support in the last few days. My CT had shown a 7mm spiculated nodule in my right lung, which had not been there 5 months ago. My pulmonologist followed-up with a PET, my first, since I have an HMO :-( The good news is that nothing but that spot about lit up! The uptake on the spot was not as pronounced as typical with cancer, but the PET report says that is not uncommon with lesions under 1cm, so it is not conclusively negative. Not sure what the next step is going to be - watch and wait or biopsy - I see my onc on Thursday and the pulomonologist next week. Meanwhile I am very happy to have the rest of the PET be clear - didn't know how much that uncertainty had weighed on me until it was gone! I am feeling very lucky today!

Thanks for your support.

Oh Erin, I am so glad you got good news with the PET. I know how stressful it is to go through that. I have a spot also on my ribs, that they think is ok, but every time I go to get scans, I worry about more of them showing up. I hope that you receive some good news soon about that one area on your lung. I'll be saying a prayer for you.

Love, Kelly
