Jan/1996 - Diagnosed with infiltrating ductal carcinoma breast cancer at age 50. Several positive nodes. Had modified ratical mastectomy with reconstructive surgery at same time.
Nine treatments of CAF. Remission for 3 years.

Jan/1999 - Recurrence in lymph node under arm of original cancer and small tumor in liver.
Was told should consider Stem Cell Transplant which I had done in 8/1999. Started Herceptin weekly in Dec./1999 and have been on since weekly.

Jan/2002 - Recurrence with small tumor in liver again (Jan. seems to be my magic month and also my birthday) Navelbine for 7 months then switched to Gemzar and have been on since. Tumor seems to stay about the same size and so far (thank God) nothing else showing up although markers keep going up and down and stay on high side. Have contemplated surgery to remove liver tumor but dismissed that idea and am thinking about having Radio Abalation procedure " not sure yet if to leave well enough alone and see.
I just pray everyday that I can stay ahead of this ""game"" until something new comes along" meantime trying to live my life to the fullest.
Good luck to everyone and God Bless.
