Wink HER2 serum test result

Hello everyone -

Well it took almost 2 weeks, but my results from the Bayer Her2 blood test came back and the news is GOOD.
My number was 8.4 - which is well below the normal range high end of 15.

I think Christine's is even a little lower than that.

Anyone else - let us know how you do, OK?

Hi Steph,

Congrats on getting a low Her2 serum number. I am just wondering why it is not indicative of your brain met. Is it sensitive only for large mets? I am also getting Her2serum test but from the Quest lab with range of 0-13(I think I need to change to labcorp)

thanks,
Julie

Wink Who knows?

Hi Julie2,
Your question about my brain met is THE ONE of the day.
My CEA, which rose to way above normal when the brain mets grew before is also steady as a rock at .7 - .9, well under normal.
These marker numbers give me hope that the regrowth may not actually BE tumor, but there is no way to biopsy - they have to go in and clean out to make sure.

Until I have the surgery on Thursday and get the pathology back next week, we will not know the answer to this question.
