Breast cancer in men often detected late
One in every hundred breast cancers or so occurs in men, and suchtumors are often detected at a late stage. Furthermore, thesecancers can appear benign on mammography, according to a report inthe American Journal of Roentgenology.

Among 244 men with breast cancer, only 57 underwent preoperative mammography or sonography, and that was because of clear signs of a problem: 54 had a palpable mass and two had nipple inversion or nipple discharge.
I must have been one of the two in that study who had nipple discharge.

I'm doing ok hun. Just trying to stay afloat like everyone else!
I have a visit with my onc next Monday and hopefully everything is A-OK. Of course i'm having pain in my chest area where the BC was, but I'm sure it's ok and just in my head. LOL
Tell Ed I said hello and you both are always in my prayers!

Hello my friend, how are you?
My surgery went well. No cancer was found in the other breast, just a pappiloma (sp?) which I understand isn't really that big of a problem. I'm doing pretty well, other than still getting rundown quite a bit which I think could be do to my low muga/echo score, and I'm hoping that it improves. I have an appointment with my onc on Tuesday for my 3 month checkup, and of course I've been having a lot of pain in the chest area where the bc was located, but I'm sure that it's most likely in my head.LOL If it wasn't for the redness and scaley skin though on the incision line. It's been 13 months now since that surgery. So I dunno.
