~MichelleH~Update From 5/2/08
Please keep those prayers coming for MichelleH, I spoke with her husband last night and she is very ill. I would not be shocked if she is now in the hospital. She had only one treatment of chemo before getting even sicker than she was. Her bilirubin has skyrocketed out of control and keeps rising. Of course this means no more chemo, atleast for now, with the hopes of her liver healing. I will not get into too many more details right now, no need to, it is what it is and it's not too good.
Her liver is so sick friends and although we all love her, my heart is extremely sickened from this news. I cannot stop praying nor crying for this very special friend and her family....her two very young children....all of us whom love her.
We have our gardens growing with special flowers and plants sprouting all over the world with gracious thoughts of her. We have her in our thoughts and prayers. We all are concerned for her well-being, yet we are helpless. I try not to waste alot of time 'hating this disease' or anything in life, it is a word I try not to validate. BUT I DO...I HATE IT! There, I said it!
I am prepared to get on a plane to vistit her if I get the word. Praying for her is a given for me. My prayers for myself (usually do not pray for me) is that I do not have to get on a plane to see her under these conditions. My prayers for me are to surprise her on our birthday. If there is room in your busy lives, please pray that I get to meet this Angel on the day we were both born and that I have the strength to be the friend Michelle needs. I am sorry if this may sound selfish, this is not about me and the last thing I am is selfish. I just love her so much and I do not know how I will muster the strength to hold back these tears in front of her.

Sometimes the news about our sweet sisters is too much to bear. Michelle and the others who are in peril today have stolen my heart and mind and have my prayers. I feel so helpless today. A most grateful thank you to those of you who reach across so many miles to check on them and bring us the news to allow us to know and pray and believe for them. God, we need lots of miracles today! Please send your angels to dwell where they are needed most. ma

Diagnosed stage 2b in July 2003 (2.3 cm, HER2+, ER-/PR-, 7+ nodes). Treated with mastectomy (with immediate DIEP flap reconstruction), AC + T/Herceptin (off label). Cancer advanced to lung in Jan. 2007 (1 cm nodule). Started Herceptin every 3 weeks. Lung wedge resection April 2007. Cancer recurred in lung April 2008. RFA of lung in August 2008. 2nd annual brain MRI in Oct. 2008 discovered 2.6 cm cystic tumor in left frontal lobe. Craniotomy Oct. 2008 (ER-/PR-/HER2-) followed by targeted radiation (IMRT). Coughing up blood Feb. 2009. Thoractomy July 2009 to cut out fungal ball of common soil fungus (aspergillus) that grew in the RFA cavity (most likely inhaled while gardening). No cancer, only fungus. Removal of tiny melanoma from upper left arm, plus sentinel lymph node biopsy in Feb. 2016. Guardant Health liquid biopsy in Feb. 2016 showed mutations in 4 subtypes of TP53. Repeat of Guardant Health biopsy in Jana. 2021 showed 3 TP53 mutations, BRCA1 mutation and CHEK2 mutation. Invitae genetic testing showed negative for all of these. Living with MBC since 2007. Stopped Herceptin Hylecta (injection) treatment in March 2020. Recent 2021 annual CT of chest, abdomen and pelvis and annual brain MRI showed NED. Praying for NED forever!!

Found suspicious lump 9/2000
Lumpectomy, then node dissection and port placement
Stage IIB, 8 pos nodes of 18, Grade 3, ER & PR -
Adriamycin 12 weekly, taxotere 4 rounds
36 rads - very little burning
3 mos after rads liver full of tumors, Stage IV Jan 2002, one spot on sternum
Weekly Taxol, Navelbine, Herceptin for 27 rounds to NED!
2003 & 2004 no active disease - 3 weekly Herceptin + Zometa
Jan 2005 two mets to brain - Gamma Knife on Jan 18
All clear until treated cerebellum spot showing activity on Jan 2006 brain MRI & brain PET
Brain surgery on Feb 9, 2006 - no cancer, 100% radiation necrosis - tumor was still dying
Continue as NED while on Herceptin & quarterly Zometa
Fall-2006 - off Zometa - watching one small brain spot (scar?)
2007 - spot/scar in brain stable - finished anticoagulation therapy for clot along my port-a-catheter - 3 angioplasties to unblock vena cava
2008 - Brain and body still NED! Port removed and scans in Dec.
Dec 2008 - stop Herceptin - Vaccine Trial at U of W begun in Oct. of 2011
STILL NED everywhere in Feb 2014 - on wing & prayer
7/14 - Started twice yearly Zometa for my bones
Jan. 2015 checkup still shows NED
2015 Neuropathy in feet - otherwise all OK - still NED.
Same news for 2016 and all of 2017.
Nov of 2017 - had small skin cancer removed from my face. Will have Zometa end of Jan. 2018.

Diagnosed June, 06, Stage I, Grade3, ER+PR- Her2positive, No Nodes. A/C X 4. Radiation 33 with boost, Herceptin every two weeks until Nov.
07, Arimedex for 5 years. Mugas and Echo and chest xRay. Bone scan of whole Body, and Back of Brain and spine MRI.
CT scan of Lungs every six months
due to two small places. December
2009, bone scan due to bone pain.
Follow up test in 2010.

Marie thank you for being such an Angel to Michele and keeping us updated on her condition. I'll be attending Carols funeral early tomorrow morning and will be praying for kate and Michele and the miracle we need to uplift us all.

A/C X 4 ..Taxol/Herceptin x 12 wks then herceptin 1 yr
Rads x 36 ..oophorectomy August '06
Currently taking Arimidex..
June 2011 osteopenia/ zometa x1 yearly- stopped Zometa 2015 as Dexa show normal bone density.
Stopped Arimidex July 2014- Restarted Arimidex 2015 for a further two years on the advice of my Onc.
2014 Normal Dexa scan
2018 Mammo all clear, still NED!
