Tykerb/Xeloda and Folic Acid

I have been on Tykerb/Xeloda for two years (!!) with the well-known hand-foot syndrome of Xeloda. Only recently I found out that Folic Acid can increase these side effects. So I stopped taking my multivitamin which contains 100% of the daily requirement for folic acid....and my feet are much better! I tried to find out whether reducing folic acid will also reduce the effectiveness of the regimen, but I have no information about that. I guess that my next set of scans will tell!
