Cough on Navelbine

Since being on Navelbine I have developed a cough. Has anyone else had this?

I looked at the info sheet regarding Navelbine and a cough is not that common. I wonder if I should be concerned.

Thanks,
Tonya

Funny you should bring that up. I've been on since mid December and notice a dry cough for a few days after infusion that gets progressively better (especially if I have a week off). I attributed it to the Herceptin I am getting with it, which causes constant runny nose. I figured the "drip" from the runny nose was causing the cough. Are you getting herceptin also?

Yes, I have herceptin too every three weeks. Right now the onc. has me on weekly Navelbine with no breaks. I noticed most people have three weeks on and one week off. I think I will ask him about that next time. So far, I have had eight straight infusions.

Other than the cough and being tired, I find Navelbine very easy to tolerate.

Tonya,
If you are also on Herceptin the cough is most likely caused by the Herceptin. Cough (dry) is a very common side effect of Herceptin. I think it comes from all the sinus problems that Herceptin brings with it.
