Scans Clear! Started Rads for Skin Mets Progression

Hi Friends, just wanted to give an update

All my scans came back clear! NO DISEASE in bones, organ or brain! No new areas except MAYBE one new node in the same axilla area we've been fighting for years, and then of course the chest skin mets which are hopefully going to be wiped out by the Death Rays; had my first two treatments Thursday and Friday, and don't really have much to report yet except the mets are a little more "ouchy". I was told it would get worse before it gets better, so I'm settling in for a long haul of inactivity as it makes things more ouchy if I get too ambitious. Frank is spoiling me by waiting on me hand and foot

Herceptin/Navelbine weekly till NED August 2001, then maintenance Herceptin. Right Mast. April 2002. Local/Regional recurrence April '04, Herceptin plus/minus chemo until May '07. Gemzar added from Feb.'07-April '07; Tykerb/Abraxane until August '07, back on Herceptin plus Taxotere and Xeloda Sept. '07. Stopped T/X Nov. '07, stopped Herceptin Dec. '07, started Avastin/Taxol/Carboplatin Dec. '07. Progression in chest skin, stopped TAC March '03, started radiation.

Herceptin has served as the "Backbone" of my treatment strategy for over 6 years, giving me great quality of life. In 2005, I was privileged to participate in the University of Washington/Seattle HER2 Vaccine Trial.

Lolly, great news about the scans! You'll get through these treatments one at a time, and then everything will be awesome. Glad Frank is so caring and helpful. God bless you both.

That's wonderful news about the scans. Now all you have to do is get through the rads and knock the skin mets into oblivion. Enjoy the pampering as you certainly deserve it.
