7 and 1/2 years out for me and doing fine. Sorry i have not checked in for awhile. My kids are getting big. Ryder just turned five in Feb and Lucy will be three in June. still cannot believe chemo cured my infertility and blessed me with the loves of my life. lymphedrma is still as nasty as ever and still contemplating lymph node transfer surgery. Survior guilt still hits me hard sometimes, why am i here when others are not. Fear of a reoccurance seems to keep me still question every little ache and pain. talked to other survivors recently and they have moved on and dont fight these feelings, gotta figure out how to channel these fears into something productive.

Hey Laurie!
Thanks so much for checking back in. You are the Rock Star of Motherhood after chemo/treatment and are a light for many.
I think we all have that little box of recurrence fear that we have to look at every once in awhile. I think that is OK and maybe just keeps us on our toes-----just as long as we don't keep that box open all the time, spilling fear into our lives and robbing us of the joy of NOW.
Enjoy those wonderful children and congrats on a wonderful life!

Arimidex 6 yrs (tried Femara, no SE improvement)
Tried Exemestane-hips got so bad could hardly walk
Back to Arimidex for year seven
Zometa 2X Annual for 7years, Lasix
Stop Arimidex 5/13
Stop Zometa 7/13-Bi-lateral Stress Fractures in Femurs from Zometa
5/14 Start Tamoxifen
3/15 Stem cell transplant to stimulate femur bone growth/healing
5/15 Complete fracture of right femur/Titanium rods both femurs
9/16 Start Evista stopTamoxifen
3/17 Stop Evista--unwelcome side effects!
NED and no meds.......

Hey!!! Its great to see that you are thriving. I can't believe the time has gone by and Ryder is already 5 years old. So much joy for you and for us here too. Thanks for popping in and letting us know how you are doing.

Stage 2A
left 3mm DCIS - low grade ER+PR+Her2 neg
lumpectomies 9/7/04
4DD AC followed by 4 DD taxol
Used Leukine instead of Neulasta
35 rads on right side only
4/05 started Tamoxifen
Started Herceptin 4 months after last Taxol due to
trial results and 2005 ASCO meeting & recommendations
Oophorectomy 8/05
Started Arimidex 9/05
Finished Herceptin (16 months) 9/06
Arimidex Only
Prolia every 6 months for osteopenia
NED 18 years!

It is so wonderful to see you and know you are well and your kiddies are getting bigger. I gave up wondering why and now just thank God everyday for the blessings of this life.

So glad you are doing well, Laurie! Gosh time flies! I think the rear view cancer mirror never really leaves us. Those other gals are better at ignoring their fears than you, that's all. It is normal...our new (permanent) normal!
