Ginseng would typically be prescribed by a practitioner of Chinese Medicine if it matches your body's pattern of imbalance. It has never matched mine so I haven't taken it in my herbal regime. Ginger, a different item entirely but also warming, on the other hand has mostly been fine though sometimes it has been counter-indicated.
I recommend consulting with qualified herbalists or practitioners of naturopathy before trying out herbs.

- 8/2017 - Stable since Dec 2016. Temporal lobe lesion gone.
