Four Years!

I haven't been on the Board in a while, but had to celebrate my "conquerversary" today with the only people who really, really get it. Four years ago February 17, I had cancerous tumors and lymph nodes removed from my breast and underarm. My scans revealed that as of that date I was cancer free. Since then I did everything I could to make sure it does not return, and so far it has not, thank God. But I know that result was not guaranteed, and that many strong, brave women (and men) will have to endure many frightening and harsh treatments, perhaps effective, perhaps not so much. Whatever the result, I am blown away by the many stories of "conquership" here (not mere survivorship because we are doing a lot more than surviving, yes?) I am in awe when looking over the vast research reported at the San Antonio conference. So we persevere, we support each other, and above all we move forward with grace, strength and hope. So as I celebrate my four years, I celebrate each and every one of you.
