Herceptin plus IGFR

Daughter in law with mets to vertebrae has oppertunity to enter a study employing Herceptin plus insulin growth factor receptor. The receptor binds insulin growth factor, which apparently promotes tumor growth. She was on Herceptin, which stopped working, and switched to Tykerb/Xyloda, which she will have to stop taking if she enters the study.
Daughter in law also indicated there is a suggestion that insulin growth factor is a component in dairy products.
Anyone have thoughts about these?
I am on iffy air card internet for a while.
