Some Ideas That May Be Helpful. I Can Only Hope!
A THOUGHT ABOUT HOSPITAL STAYS... Hope someone picks this up for Kate. When my husband was in the hospital this past summer he could not wait to come home because the noise in the halls, cming from other patients screaming, nurses, rolling whatevers was making him crazy. He could not sleep.
So, I made a mental note -- BRING A GOOD HEADSET, PREFERABLY W/MUSIC, BUT EVEN BLOCKING OUT THE NOISE -- TO REST EASY...
You must get your sleep, Kate. It is healing.
I know someone is incessantly pestering you to take your bld pressure, temperature, collect urine, poke and prod. At least if you can create your own peaceful environment w/a headset -- you are better able to sleep and rest comfortably!
Just a suggestion I wish I'd thought of before Paul came home, and while he was fighting to get out of the hospital. He is an impossible patient. I know you, Kate, are the perfect patient, but we all need some guidance here.
Before my mastec, a friend suggested I bring my own pillow. I did and it was a comfort, w/my leopard print pillowcase. Another something to make the best of a necessary part of getting better.
With love,
Andi

What an unbelieveable friend.....
Kate is an incredible person, she called me from the hospital. How unselfish is that?? Thinking of all of us while she is getting pumped with IV's!! I was so thrilled to see that you girls had already started threads for needed prayers and support. Well Ladies, count me in on those prayers, I have been praying extra hard since she said she was sick.
So Kate, if you can hear me...get better and come back to us, we surely miss your smiling face on our posts you send. I feel lost without hearing what you have to say.
And Kate, thanks for thinking of us while you are so sick!! You are an Angel!!>>Believe51

Sorry your fever was not better, but sure hope it has gone down by today.
Now Kate -
You must listen to what my grandmother used to say about pneumonia. She called it "the OLD people's friend." You do not fit that category, so I am sending you best wishes that you get UNfriendly with that pneumonia bug right away!
What Andi says about the hospital noise is really true - I got so little sleep, even in the intensive unit, when I had the 2 surgeries on my head on 2006. I had them put me in a corner room AWAY from the nurses station as that is one of noisiest areas, especially in the middle of the night! Even with my door closed I had to ring the bell to shush them more than once.
