I am so sorry for your loss, At the same time it is wonderful that she was able to come home. And to outlive her child. I think if we can all manage that we will be blessed.

Jan. 26- mammogram and ultrasound- suspicious lump
Mid-February- lumpectomy, infiltrating ductal carcinoma ~4.5 cm and a 1 cm DCIS, did not get clear margins, did not check lymph nodes
ER+/PR+, her2 +++, nuclear grade 3 of 3
February 20-PET scan showed something on liver. No biopsy.
March- Started carboplatin, herceptin, taxol on a four week cycle
May 3- Pet scan, with intent to do a biopsy, found nothing, liver or breast- no biopsy because there is nothing to biopsy
June 21- new onc, very concerned that there had been no biopsy,
June 18th-CAT scan, bone scan-negative
August 7th - Brain MRI-negative
August 9th- mastectomy, all pathology negative
January 2008 still NED! New oncologist -herceptin for full year after chemo- until July, and tamoxifen---negative scans since May '07
July 2008-Finished Herceptin!

I'm sorry I'm so late....
We were away Marie, and then my sis's treatment started. I've been away from the computer except for a couple of brief questions which I posted from sis's computer. I'm so sorry for your loss and hope that you are finding comfort in your memories of your dear mother-in-law. Please know that you were every bit as much an angel for her as she is to you.

Thanks Ladies. This feels like it happened 2 months ago and it is just 2 weeks. We had a beautiful celebration for her with the entire family that was like she planned it herself. I am still packing up her house and it is difficult to give away, sell or donate all the things she called special things that were her 'life'.

Best of all, I found a perfect home for her cat that was like she planned it too. Whew....boy would she be upset with me......ahhhh.

I also found medals of all the saints that was missing and she was so upset. She would want me to have them and the rosary beads. Right now it is hard to mourn and once the house is done it will hit me harder.

For now we are moving forward with peace.>>Believe51
