Advice please-skin rash and taxotere

Had second dose of taxotere and herceptin last week. After first dose I got a very itchy rash all over my neck. This eventually settled down but has left a brown discoloured mark. My onc was not concerned but it has now appeared again and is also on my cheeks!
Heard that skin rashes are common on taxotere, any suggestions about coping with it or meds to reduce it would be gratefully received as it's driving me MAD!

Many thanks
Ellie(itchy in England)

I had this with Taxol (same drug class as Taxotere). See if you can use either a hydrocortisone cream or Benadryl cream or gel. Not both - just one or the other.

I used hydrocortisone cream and it worked well. You can't use it all over your body (if the rash is everywhere as mine was) as it is too much of a dose (so then you have to choose where you are the most uncomfortable.

The cheek flush is common with the taxanes.
