Question Echo side effects????

Has anyone experienced "side effects" or a "woozy" feeling when they have/had an echocardiogram? This is probably a crazy question, but a co-worker said her husband gets woozy when he has them and when I had echo's for Herceptin, they seemed pretty straight forward, but being that it has been a couple of years and that I may have forgotten (darn chemo brain), I thought I would ask the "experts"? Thanks everyone...love ya all

The Echo I had a month or so ago did not cause any side effects. All I can think of is that they had me deep breathe and hold my breath for most of the 20 minutes or so - do you think that might be the cause?

There are also ECHOs that are part of the nuclear medicine department where they give a tracer. Maybe he had something different than the straightforward type we get. There are also ones that are given while the heart is stressed. This can be in conjunction to a normal stress test or a drug they give that has the same effect as the treadmill.

He could just be sensitive to the ultrasound waves too. Everybody is different.

I had echo's all throughout my year of herceptin and never noticed anything. I can't imagine what would cause that other then what Becky already suggested. Things affect us all differently though.
