Gaining weight???

I am on tykerb/xeloda/herceptin/avastin and have steadily gained weight (on average 1.5 -2 lbs every 3 weeks). I am so sick of this, is anyone else gaining weight?

Re: Gaining weight???

DianaT,

I gained weight whenever I was on chemo. I heard about the factor of the steroids and I know partially it was because I was eating well and resting well. I actually achieved my ideal weight during chemo.

Now I am underweight again, I began to watch for any signs of cancer or other illnesses since weight loss has always been a sign of my health problems.

A few members had reported before about how they maintained their ideal weight by exercising regularly during chemo. If you are having a lot of concerns, you might want to make an appointment with a clinical dietician. Our oncoloigsts a lot of times just don't take it as an important issue.

Re: Gaining weight???

I am on Herception (4 months now) and when I started I did 9 weeks of Chemo --- but I have lost almost 20 pounds --- since March when I had surgery.... because I gave up everything and am doing a health "cure" along with my medical cure.

I became a vegetarian, gave up coffee, sugar, white everything (pasta, bread, rice), meat and all animal products. So, the great point is I have lost the 20 or so pounds I had "gained" in 3 years in Italy!

With this diet (eat to live as I call it) I can't gain weight - and its great!

Few of my favorite websites that explain ph and the power of diet and supplements:

Favorite Books:
The Cancer Battle Plan Sourcebook (this is the updated version) by David Frahm
Amazing book that outlines how to cure yourself – or as they call it - detoxify the body.

Crazy Sexy Cancer Survivor – by Kris Carr

If you are interested in more information please email me at karen_mppseattle@hotmail.com - I have a lot gathered in documents and scans and I personally believe this is the key to longevity and CURING this beast we are fighting.
