Lapatinib trials for 4 yrs out?

I'm 4 years out from diagnosis and tx and am now NED. I had stage 1 IDC, nodes neg, lumpectomy, dose-dense chemo, rads and Herceptin for a yr (was er/pr+ and Her2 +). I've looked for trials for adjuvant use of Lapatinib and have found only trials for people very recently out of tx. Has anyone heard about use of this drug to further protect people like myself who've been through tx already? (Well, I am still on Arimidex for another 2 yrs).

Thanks and gentle hugs to all,
Liza

Hi Liza,

Here in Europe ALTTO (Adjuvant Lapatinib Trastuzumab Treatment Options?) trial is on for newly diagnozed bc patients. So, has surely been there for awhile in the US. I was wondering about the same issue as you and thank you for opening up this thread. My mom is soon 2 years out and, perhaps, it is worth taking any further possible protection. My guess is that it takes time till these new trials, like Lapatinib adjuvant, prove to show good results. Would be nice to hear any further thoughts/knowledge on this.
