Cold or not cold?

How do you guys know when you have just a cold and a simple cough to thinking it is something much more? Everytime my wife gets a cough, I am like , uh oh! It has been 2 months since last scan and all was stable. I am just freaking out again!

Thanks

John

When my cough turned out to "be something" I had a dry cough that continued on and on. When I would try any over the counter remedies that always helped me in the past, they wouldn't affect it in any way. If my circimstances, that would be how I would differentiate one from the other.

Hi John
I apply my 2 week rule - that is I do everything I would normally do to get rid of the cold, sore leg (i've previously had bone mets) or whatever and if I haven't shaken it in 2 weeks I'm off to the Dr. for investigation!
Sometimes it's hard not to panic but for me at the moment most things just disappear in 2 weeks and by then there is something else to worry about!!
