On further research, I discovered that Neupogen and Neulasta are from the same pharm co. Neupogen was the drug of choice until Neulasta came out in 2002. As I mentioned before Neulasta is a one-time injection, can be given with the chemo and lasts, for me at least, about a month until my blood cells crash again (Navelbine). It IS expensive, though, so that might be why an onc wouldn't recommend it...if he/she checked with your insurer and was denied. But my insurance companies have had to problem.
