Casting for recovery

Has anyone ever been to the Casting for Recovery? I leave next Friday and I am excited. If you went did you have a good time? What can I expect of the weekend?

you can expect good company

Hi Patty,

I went to a "Casting for Recovery" program a few years ago, in Northern California (Pit River). Great company, plush accommodations, and instruction on fly fishing and on breast cancer issues (not medical ones). We had an assortment of wonderful women - some still in treatment, some with mets, some long past treatment and without recurrence. Meeting and visiting with them and with the staff (who were all survivors) was the highlight of the experience for me.

It wasn't exactly life-changing but it was enjoyable. One thing that amazed me was how hungry some of the women were to share their experience with others who understood and had "been-there-done-that". I think that those of us connected with online support lists, like HERsupport, have less need in this regard. Thank you, Joe and Christine, for making this available to so many.

Please let us know how it was for you, okay?
