Lapatinib - Latest Rumors

We have heard that some preliminary clinical trials of the new GSK drug Lapatinib will be announced at the May meeting of ASCO in Orlando.

As this drug has been fast tracked by the FDA, if the trials are favorable, approval should come shortly thereafter.

Lapatinib is currently going under extensive clinical trials for use by HER2 positive bc patients who have either failed or had limited response to Herceptin.

Doing a Google search will produce a wealth of information.

Did I read somewhere that this drug could possibly pass the BBB?..maybe it was wishful dreaming!

seems likely--Dana Farber, here in Boston, is doing a trial using it particularly for people with brain mets.
