RSR13 was presented at the San Antonio Symposium. It has finished stage III trials and is fast tracked for approval by the FDA.

RSR13 shows an increase in response and length of response of nearly 50% when used with Whole Brain Radiation.

CyberKnife is very similar to Gamma Knife and is a form of Stereotactic Radiosurgery. But the benefits are NO SCREWED ON HEADFRAME. It is also highly sensitive, adjusting for the slightest of movements.

There are only 14-17 centers that have this machine available, but more each year. They are mainly being used for tumors of the head/brain and neck at this time. But have the capability to treat all other tumors in the body.

For us with brain mets, it is a WONDERFUL option over GK and SRS. No headframe and as I understand it can indeed treat multiple tumors. That may be done in treatments of several days running.

A custom-fit, flexible mesh mask is created for your face.

hugs, pattyz
