Question about lump under arm

Hi everyone. I have developed a lump under my arm probably on a rib. At first my onc said it was just my rib...then he realized it had some movement. It's about 2 cm and painless. However, I found the lump because I had some pain going from under my arm across the chest where I had the mastectomy. I had radiation in this area also.

Anyone had a lump develop under the arm on the rib? My blood work was also a little different. Slightly raised liver enzymes, slight anemia. My onc is just watching it for now.

Sound familiar to anyone? I am so ready for everything to be "normal" for a while...

Thanks for any suggestions or information.

Peggy

I haven't had anything like this, but if I did, I would want it checked out immediately, especially with your blood tests being "off." It is most likely nothing, but better to be sure then wait and see and wish you hadn't. Being stage 3 or 4 makes me even more vigilant about getting anything unusual checked IMMEDIATELY!

I cannot relate to your symptoms but will say that I would not take a "wait and watch" approach. I would find out what it was and the sooner the better.

Of course, it could be absolutely nothing, but being in the shoes we are in I think anything suspicious should be checked out thoroughly.

Praying it is nothing.

Peggy,
Sheila is a wise sister. I am having rib pain but no lump, in the radiated area. After a chest x-ray showed nothing, I had a bone scan last week. Waiting for the results. I did not have blood work.

I always like to get things check out. I don't like tests and hate waiting for results. But I feel better when I know for sure.

Good luck and let us know.

Thanks

Thanks..I guess I just needed a little reinforcement to ask to check it out. I think the hardest thing about this whole BC reality is remaining vigilent forever!

I couldn't agree more. Sometimes it does become tiring, doesn't it? But we have to be vigilant always. And nothing bugs me more than when I hear people say "my doctor thinks I'm a hypochondriatic" - geez, what in the world do those doctors think? Of course we worry BUT worry has nothing to do with symptoms and making sure things are checked out. We've all learned that even when we think everything is fine, it surely doesn't mean they are. So when symptoms persist we MUST be vigilant and have things checked out. That is NOT being a hypochonriac. That is being SMART.
