Leaving for Florida!

Just letting everyone know that I will not be posting for a week or so as my husband and I along with our pug, Yoda will be leaving for Destin, Florida on Thursday for two months. We are so excited to be able to do this. First time to be snowbirds!! I have my laptop so will be checking in as we are driving its 1700 miles and plan to take several days to get there. I will be seeing an oncologist in Fort Walton Beach while I am there. Wishing you all a Happy New Year. hugs, Sandy

Smile Fun in the Sun for Sandy the Snowbird!

OH! Sandy!
I am so happy for you that you, hubby and pup are able to go for a nice long getaway like that. What a blessing Tykerb has been for you that you can be freed up from the other treatments and be a little footloose.

Life is good these days - after all the years of tough fight you have had with those devilish skin mets.

Let us know what you are doing to amuse yourself and what you see along the way, OK?

Thumbs up

Dear Sandy, i know the Destin area well and I know you will have a lovely, serene time there.
FYI I evacuated from Biloxi to the Panama city beach area for two months after hurricane Katrina. I had to stay there as I could not recieve my infusions back home. In any event I saw a terrific Onc. in Panama City (not far from Destin) who took me in sight unseen and continued my treatments without skipping a beat. Just in case you need someone else his name is Dr John Nanfro at Northwest Florida Hematology Oncology,P.A. If you need more info please send me a message!

Have a great time!
Marcia
PS We have had some rather cold weather recently so make sure to pack some warm things!

Sandy have a terrific time in Florida. I just returned from an 8 night cruise and 3 nights in Boca Raton. It was great to be away from the docs and cancer stuff for a while. Safe travel and hope the weather is as good to you as it was to me.

At-a-girl, Sandy! You three have a wonderful, warm, relaxing, time! Someday I would love to winter in Florida, too. (South Dakota is not exactly balmy during the winter months.) Keep us posted.....
