Sheila has always been such a source of strength for me. She has given me such great advice in her responses to my threads, and has always been such a great example to everyone who reads her posts. Im so sorry she is in so much pain. I send many prayers that she will be surrounded with God's love and divine protection. Please let her know we are all thinking of her..all the time.

January 2012 after double mastectomy, started taxotere, carboplatin and herceptin.
Clear.
December 2012 was diagnosed with five brain mets, and had whole brain radiation.
Around July 2014 two mets in brain, one a residual spot and one new one growing in size. Received Cyberknife on both areas

May all of our prayers reach you and help get you through this hospital stay. May your platlets get stronger and may the pain subside. We love you and are praying for you to get better. to the Derby and all summer with horses and blue-
grass. I will be glad to send Tip anywhere or take
him to Fl again where I got her from Suzane in May.
Has not been in any trouble and my dog Madi has
sometimes wanted to take over the care.

Talked to Mom yesterday afternoon she said she they were sending her home. Please continue to pray that there are more options out there and she can get strong enough to continue fighting. I can't lose my Mom.

Found suspicious lump 9/2000
Lumpectomy, then node dissection and port placement
Stage IIB, 8 pos nodes of 18, Grade 3, ER & PR -
Adriamycin 12 weekly, taxotere 4 rounds
36 rads - very little burning
3 mos after rads liver full of tumors, Stage IV Jan 2002, one spot on sternum
Weekly Taxol, Navelbine, Herceptin for 27 rounds to NED!
2003 & 2004 no active disease - 3 weekly Herceptin + Zometa
Jan 2005 two mets to brain - Gamma Knife on Jan 18
All clear until treated cerebellum spot showing activity on Jan 2006 brain MRI & brain PET
Brain surgery on Feb 9, 2006 - no cancer, 100% radiation necrosis - tumor was still dying
Continue as NED while on Herceptin & quarterly Zometa
Fall-2006 - off Zometa - watching one small brain spot (scar?)
2007 - spot/scar in brain stable - finished anticoagulation therapy for clot along my port-a-catheter - 3 angioplasties to unblock vena cava
2008 - Brain and body still NED! Port removed and scans in Dec.
Dec 2008 - stop Herceptin - Vaccine Trial at U of W begun in Oct. of 2011
STILL NED everywhere in Feb 2014 - on wing & prayer
7/14 - Started twice yearly Zometa for my bones
Jan. 2015 checkup still shows NED
2015 Neuropathy in feet - otherwise all OK - still NED.
Same news for 2016 and all of 2017.
Nov of 2017 - had small skin cancer removed from my face. Will have Zometa end of Jan. 2018.

Huge Hugs Jen,
Although you don't know me, I know how you feel and my heart goes out to you. I know it is so very difficult for you right now to see Sheila like this and how helpless you feel. Her pain, pain meds and nausea have been rough on her body, and compounded by low counts, her body is weak. She is really tired now. All of this has knocked her down, but she has not given up. She needs a break for peaceful healing rest.
As you know, she is surrounded by great hope and love. We continue to have faith and pray for her pain relief so she does not suffer, as well as comfort, nutrients, and strength. Jen, try to be strong while you continue to be there with her and for her. It's important you take care. Please make sure to eat and get some rest. Let us know how you and Sheila are doing tomorrow. Your mom is such a special person, and along with everyone else, I pray for her continued strength. She has been through so much...a true lover of life driven by her love for you, Jasmine and the rest of her family.
I think Steph, as usual, has said it perfectly. Joanne too.
You say you don't know what to do; and how could you? When what you really want to do, probably, is make it all go away, somehow fix it. I think your job is easier, and harder, at the same time - to just love your mom back. take care of yourself. Stay strong. Breathe.
Remember, you and your mom are wrapped in our healing prayers and love.
