I had firstly a little bump on the scar line. It was like a cyst, but it didn't weep. I got antibiotics for it for 2 weeks, then my GP sent me back to surgeon who excised it in his rooms. Came back positive for br cancer. Then, due to the incision I suppose, I got a "rash' of skin mets. Had Herceptin as first line of treatment for 2ndaries, had CT scan which showed more 2ndaries, but good old Big H wiped them out. Since then (Jan 05) I have only had to deal with recurring mets to lung

Patricia,

Are you HER2 positive?

I had skin mets after my original biopsy. 2 AC treatment did not do anyting for my mets, so the doctor started me on Herceptin and Taxol. I did the treatment on a Thursday; and by Saturday the mets had disappeared.

Skin Mets

I had little red bumps or pimples on my chest below my breasts. The other women who had them only depended on chemo. Their skin mets spread to other areas. Since they were right on the surface of the skin I went to see my excellent dermatologist who removed them easily in her office. According to the pathology report some still contained cancer and some previously had cancer, but were no longer cancerous. The dermatologist told me cancer changes the tissue around it permanently. That is how the pathologist knew there was cancer previously. My skin mets were gone forever.

I had a single skin met too upon my diagnosis. It disappeared before my eyes, I'd say after my 2nd tx. I surely wish it hadn't been there at all, but it was pretty incredible to see that the tx was definitely working!
