I was in a stage 4 when diagosed so I automatically got Herceptin and haven't had any problems with it so far (10 months) Did they do the muga scan on your heart before they started treatment to see if it was strong enough? I am sorry that you have experienced that with herceptin - I will refer back to someone elses email stating that everyone is different and reacts different to their cancer and the treatment they are on. I wish you the best of luck. I am currently on Carboplatin (kind of a new treatment - maybe ask about it??.

The docs seem to think it was Herceptin that caused it, but since I did have some SOBreath before, I'm a little confused. Now under the care of a cardiologist, too.

My muga before original chemo in Nov. '02 was around 63; another one before latest chemo was 54. So it was still ok, although not as high (above 50).

I will ask about carbo if the navelbine isn't working. I think Gemzar is another one.
