Hey folks,
Remember this:
http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/113261.php
I have word from a LIFT research contact and have been told the project is on hold indefinitely since it was thought unreasonable to ask patients to pay for the expensive process used in the trial.
!
Firstly, I didn't think patients payed to be in trials.
Secondly, isn't this kind of thing why there are all these products cashing in on being pink?
Thirdly, isn't that what organizations like ACS, Komen etc are supposed to be doing with their money from all the fundraising events? How about world health organization, aka WHO. (more like Where?)
Fourthly, see 1 through 3.
Ok..maybe I'm just terribly naive and a bit upset.
Does anyone here have insights into research funding? Any constructive thoughts on how to help get LIFT back on the rails? I am a video producer when not glued to pubmed. Maybe a youtube viral campaign is in order.
Unless...maybe the research isn't as promising as it seems and that's why they can't attract funding?
