Stage II, Grade 3, 4.5 cm primary tumor
ER/PR- Her2 +3 strongly positive
Her2 by FISH 7.7 amplified
vascular invasion
Ki67 20% borderline
Jan - March '06 Taxotere/Adriamycin X 3 to try to shrink tumor - it grew
April '06 Rt Modified Radical Mas, 7 of 9 nodes positive
April - Aug. '06 Herceptin/Taxol/Carboplatin X 8 (dose dense)
Sept - Dec. '06 Navelbine/Herceptin x 8 (dose dense)
Radiation & Herceptin Jan. 22 - March 1, 2007
Finished Herceptin Dec. 10 '08! One extra year.
Port removed August, 2012.
8 1/2 years since diagnosis! 5 1/2 Years NED!

Update on Joy
Thanks for thinking and asking about Joy. She has now had three rounds of Ixempra, she has not landed in the hospital with this third round but it has been very tough. The neuropathy is very bad and they plan to start her on a drug to help with that next week. But she has been in a lot of pain and on a lot of pain killers which make her sleep a lot. She is having her third blood transfusion today and they are giving her a chemo break this week, then lowering the dose next week to see if that helps. She has lost quite a bit of weight which is a concern because see was tiny to begin with! But she is responding to treament her liver seems to be doing much better, which is great, the treatment is just been brutal though. Thanks again for asking and I will keep you all posted. 7-10-2019 CT to check lung nodule.
1-10-2020 8mm stable nodule on R Lung, two 6mm new ones on L Lung, a possible lymph node involvement in inter fissule.

Jennifer, I hope that Joy will find the strength to cope with the treatment. I feel terrible knowing she is suffering. The news about her liver seems encouraging. Thank you for being near her and telling her how much we all care for her. Michka

06.2017 all tumors shrunk 60% . more micro mets to brain (1mm mets) no symptoms

Thanks Jennifer for updating us. We are all very much concerned about Joy. Her weight loss is a serious matter, as most cancer patients with small build do not have much reserve for the on-going trauma. The body started to waste its own muscle and fat. Please consult her doctor and see what you can do for her. Best luck.

Annual scans all negative, Oct 06
Postmenopause. Arimidex only since Sept 06, bone or muscle ache after 3 month
Off Arimidex, change to Femara 1/12-07, ache stopped
Sept 07 all tests negative, pass 2 year mark
Feb 08 continue doing well.
Sep 09 four year NED still on Femara.

Nov '07 "bloody nipple discharge" (OB-GYN "thought" I had fibrocystic breasts and told me to take 400 IU's of Vitamin E)
Note: Mother was dx w/BC in 2004 (ER/PR+ & HER2+) & mets to brain April 2007 (she passed away June 17, 2008)

2/22/08: Surgery R-side Mast
2/28/08: 1st Path Rpt Dx: IDC 1.8cm tumor & DCIS 2.1cm
2nd Path Rep DFCI - IDC (0.9cm) & DCIS (2.1cm)

Chemo: AC 4 rnds (1st one 3/31/08) finished 6/2/08
TH (Taxol/Hercepin) 12 weeks (1st one 6/25/08) finished 9/8/08
Herceptin 9 mos (every 3 weeks) finished 6/8/09

Joy has so much to live for; and while I am so sad to hear about her pain and neuropathy, I feel if anyone can kick butt; it is Joy - I am so glad to hear she is rallying. Godspeed to you both.

2012, February - 1 small tumor came back to haunt me in my lungs - back on Herceptin only, tumor stable.
2015, November - tumor on lungs removed (Segmentectomy), back on Herceptin only
Received U of W vaccine clinical "booster" Vaccine
2022 On Herceptin and NED continues - WOOT WOOT!
