Recent Dx. of friends daughter

My friends 42 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which has spread to her liver. They were to meet with the oncologist today to discuss treatment. I don't think surgery was an option as the disease has already matastisised. I've known this young woman since she was 16 years old. She is married with 4 sons, age 9, twins age 6, and the baby is 4. She wants to see her boys grow up. Will you all pray for Jodee? My friend lost her mother, whom she was very devoted to, last year. To say my friend is freaking out would be an understatement. She is going in all different directions to find someone who can heal her daughter. Please pray that she finds the right answers and also pray for me to give her the support she needs.

Thankyou, Lu Ann

A prayer for us all to pray as we read.

Dear Jesus, We bring before you this 42 year old woman who was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Lord Jesus, you are the Great Physician and we are committing her to your care. In the Name of Jesus we pray for you to heal her. We bring before you the family and ask you to hold them close and give them your Peace.

Lord, we so don't understand this journey we travel. It seems so hard - and at times so hopeless. Your word tells us ......... "For we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him and were called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28. We hang onto that promise..........trusting and believing that you are here and working in all of our lives.

We thank you most of all for the free gift of salvation - that by believing in Jesus we are promised Eternal Life. (John 3:16)

In Jesus' Name we pray, Amen

Love your sister in Christ - Mary Jo (marejo)

Thanks

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Thank you all so much for praying for this young woman and for praying for me.

It is on my mind almost as much as when I was diagnosed. You know how it is. It's the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning and the last thing you think about before you go to sleep.

I know my friend, her mother, is going out of her mind. Tina lost her mother, who was her best friend, last year. I never knew anyone as devoted to her mother as Tina was to hers. Now her youngest daughter, Jodee, is diagnosed with one of the most deadly cancers and she is just beside herself at what to do.

I packed up some of my books for her about healing and cancer. I also sent her a book by Barbara Johnson who writes about the humorous side of life. It's something to get her mind off cancer, even if for just a few seconds.

Thanks and God Bless all of you.
Lu Ann.

ps Mary Jo, I plan to copy your prayer and send it to Jodee in a card. Thank You

Another good book for her is Grace For Each Hour by Mary J. Nelson. The woman who wrote the book had breast cancer but the book is awesome. They are page and a half devotional type stories about going through cancer and how are faith plays such a role. I would highly recommend this book. I have went through it 4 times in the past year and it has brought me much comfort, encouragement and support.

Hugs to all,
marejo
