I had an ear infection and a cough so I went to a walk-in. After a week and finishing the antibiotic, the cough was worse. I was then treated for bronchial distress, and told that due to my history, a chest x-ray might be a good idea. I was going to see my onc for a six month check-up anyway and said I would check with him first. Breathing was becoming difficult, I was tired and I was loosing weight. The onc agreed that I should have an x-ray. There was fluid building up in my lung - possible mets or pneumonia. I ended up going to the ER before either doctor could do anything. I was in so much pain from coughing and the pressure of the fluid in my lung. I stayed for 10 days and had to have my lungs drained...That is my experience. Some are lucky not to have symptoms. I am happy I got an ear infection...
