Wink Re: Anyone heard from Pam???

I was thinking the same thing, so I checked the member list. Her last post was October 5th. I just sent her a PM, so hopefully I will hear something soon.
Even if we don't log on for a few days copies of all PMs go to our e-mail, so she will know we are thinking of her.

Re: Anyone heard from Pam???

Thanks, PinkGirl for asking about me!

I haven't posted in awhile, but have been checking the site. Seems like not much activity from anyone much lately. Hopefully 'no news is good news."

I was going to write an update after I see the onc. on Thurs. I anticipate starting up on chemo again that day. I've been off chemo now since Aug.16 dealing with all the symptoms & dx of this other autoimmune disease dermatomyowitis. I've been on high dose 60 mg prednisone which has really taken down much of the symptoms & now I'm gradually getting the dose lowered each week. I'm not back to where I was but I'm feeling much better. I'm not looking forward to starting chemo again but I know I must. I wanted to start back on tykerb for now, but the onc. thinks it won't be effective as it should be again & wants me to start abraxane. He said he'd do some study on it & we'd decide on Thurs. I will go with his recommendation.

So that's the latest on me - I'll check in after I know more on Thurs.

Re: Anyone heard from Pam???

Dear Pam -
Very glad to hear that your symptoms of the "other" autoimmune problem are lessening and you are feeling better. Weaning from a high dose steroid is not fun either, but at least you are able to cut back.

Abraxane is a good drug and is synergistic with Herceptin.

Re: Anyone heard from Pam???

I'd been thinking about you to Pam....wondering how you were doing? I'm so glad to hear from you. I can only imagine how misrable the high dose steroids have made you feel. Hoping now that you are tapering down on them you will feel a bit better. All I know is your one tough cookie and it's about time something good comes your way. I'll be keeping you as always in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated on what your onc comes up with.

Re: Anyone heard from Pam???

Pam,
I am so glad to hear that you are getting the autoimmune issue managed.

Just wanted to provide words of encouragement about Abraxanne. I found that combination to be very tolerable and worked for over a year for me.

Hoping for great success...Lori
