"However, when we considered all the evidence in front of us, it was not strong enough for us to be able to accept these medicines for routine use," he added.

SMC Chairman Prof Jonathan Fox

I had this drug for 2 1/2 years in Scotland but only because I was lucky to get on a trial!!

Re: Today in scotland - Perjeta

Picketing and Petitioning over here seems to have helped soften up our FDA . Personal meetings by we Stage IV survivors with our political reps. They are getting more flexible . Pick a public healthcare or big govt event and publically protest . Like my Lorraine did , wearing her " I Am A T DM-1 Miracle " , carrying her Fix the Slow FDA sign , along with about 25 of us , freezing in 10 degree weather as the FDA Commissioner tried to defend their slow system inside .
Next week we will be sitting with them at a conference on the future of randomized clinical trials in NY. and we have sat with them and testifed in front of them before. We knew it wasn't personal - they weren't trying to kill Lorraine , but their Impersonal , Blind Bureaucracy at that time nearly did .
Next up is More Compassion from Big Pharma .
