Re: Totally random thoughts and comments

Hi There,
We don't have squirrels in Oz, but possums are similar...and they cause us grief...
Our Chihauhau X dog loves getting out there and harrassing them up trees, but our poor trees look worse for wear...not alot of leaves on them and looking like we could lose one of the older trees...but they seem to love our place, the possums have their little hideout down the back of our garden and breed, breed, breed,
Regards
Sue

Gypsy that is sad for the trees I wonder what it would take to make them move? That is natural and not harmful to you or your dog?

Re: Totally random thoughts and comments

I'm really bummed out about "Turkey Bacon". I've been putting off trying it for years. It was supposed to be my "ace in the hole" when I wanted to kick my health level up a notch or two. I mean, it's common knowledge that bacon is the best thing ever made, so it's understandable that I had high hopes for this turkey bacon nonsense. My son Daniel said it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, so a few weeks ago, I figured I would try some. I was left to my own devices one Sunday afternoon and raced to the grocery store. I grabbed a pack of turkey bacon and threw it into my cart next to the V-8 juice, cranberry juice, walnuts, almonds, avocadoes, and bluebrries. I whipped through the checkout line and raced home and pulled out the 2 pounds of ground beef I had stashed in the fridge and worked it into 4 patties and began slicing a block of cheddar, picturing the awesome bacon cheddar cheeseburgers I was about to create. I grilled the burgers to near perfection as the turkey bacon simmered in a pan on a side burner. "mmm, that's funny, there's no fat or grease leaking out of this bacon. It's sticking to the pan" To make a long story short (I know--too late) I threw half a pound of that god-forsaken turkey bacon on the most awesomest fat cheeseburgers you ever saw and was horribly disappointed. That was 3 weeks ago and I'm still bummed out about it.

Well, it could have been worse. He could have shown up to Patrick Swayze's funeral and said "Michael Jackson's death was the best death of the century!"

I'm just saying.....

Jimmy Page is 65 hard years old and has rather fragile health. He spends his time as the chief patron of the Outside the Edge Theater Group which is solely run by addicts and ex-addicts.

My sister saw Page in concert in Orlando a couple of years ago. He made it through and she did not complain that she did not get her money's worth.

Smile Christmas Blessing/Miracle

Hi guys... hope I am putting this thread in the right column???
Hello ya'll.. Normally I have only bad and worse than bad news to report.. I am of course having a big time problem, which I won't go into now... maybe later.. I would like to report to the gang that my ejection fraction rate ( has hovered around 25-30%) since 04, .. is now at a high of 55-60%.(thank you Lord) I say that with sincere meaning. I was in the hospital for 3 days, and they kept a monitor on me nonstop..my cardiologist came by on the 3rd. day, and as he was leaving my room , I asked him, what was my ejection fraction rate was..(fearing the worst). He looked at me and smiled and said it is around 55-60%.. I said,,, that is a Chrismas miracle..!!!! he nodded his head and said something along the lines of ,.... Yes, and are you still taking Coreg?? I said yes, he said , Coreg has been shown to help the ejection fraction rate... I smiled then and said, I prefer to think it is a Christmas Miracle..
so if you have been having some difficulty with your heart as I have been,This is truly a blessing..I will talk to my Onc. and see if other avenues are open to me now!!... I have been smiling since Christmas.. will give the gang an update on my husband in another thread.. He is still hanging on by his fingernails.. awating a lung doner...

Re: Totally random thoughts and comments

John Madden did retire. As you may know, he had a serious fear of flying. He had to drive from one end of the country to other as many as 17 times a year and he said the travel was finally too much for him.
