SAD NEWS - Lolly has earned her wings
Dear Group -
Had a call this afternoon from Lolly's husband (the great looking guy she is hugging in her pic that shows with her posts). I am still in shock.
At 4:56 am Pacific time this morning, Lolly went to join her other HER2 sisters who she helped and comforted so much over the past years. Family and hubby by her side.
Hubby reported that she did complete the radiation, but the mets were too active to have much effect. The skin mets went deep and her breathing was affected. Earlier in May she went to the hospital rather suddenly feeling bad. She was stabilized and sent home on May 21 with oxygen and a morphine drip. Even though she could move around a little she was feeling too weak to get on the computer.
There was no hospice sent in as her amazing husband learned what to do for her and took off work to take care of his dear Lolly. How much love does this show??!!
"Her last days were exactly how she wanted them," I was told.
Her obituary will run in the Corvallis Gazette Times in a couple of days.
Lovely Lolly, we miss you, but you are doing other important work now.

MY STORY SO FAR ~~~~
Found suspicious lump 9/2000
Lumpectomy, then node dissection and port placement
Stage IIB, 8 pos nodes of 18, Grade 3, ER & PR -
Adriamycin 12 weekly, taxotere 4 rounds
36 rads - very little burning
3 mos after rads liver full of tumors, Stage IV Jan 2002, one spot on sternum
Weekly Taxol, Navelbine, Herceptin for 27 rounds to NED!
2003 & 2004 no active disease - 3 weekly Herceptin + Zometa
Jan 2005 two mets to brain - Gamma Knife on Jan 18
All clear until treated cerebellum spot showing activity on Jan 2006 brain MRI & brain PET
Brain surgery on Feb 9, 2006 - no cancer, 100% radiation necrosis - tumor was still dying
Continue as NED while on Herceptin & quarterly Zometa
Fall-2006 - off Zometa - watching one small brain spot (scar?)
2007 - spot/scar in brain stable - finished anticoagulation therapy for clot along my port-a-catheter - 3 angioplasties to unblock vena cava
2008 - Brain and body still NED! Port removed and scans in Dec.
Dec 2008 - stop Herceptin - Vaccine Trial at U of W begun in Oct. of 2011
STILL NED everywhere in Feb 2014 - on wing & prayer
7/14 - Started twice yearly Zometa for my bones
Jan. 2015 checkup still shows NED
2015 Neuropathy in feet - otherwise all OK - still NED.
Same news for 2016 and all of 2017.
Nov of 2017 - had small skin cancer removed from my face. Will have Zometa end of Jan. 2018.

Oh my gosh. I am completely shocked, and saddened. Lolly has been a huge inspiration to me and to so many others. I will miss her so much.

It is so shocking! She is the sweetest person I know, I can't believe what I just read and it is very disappointing.
I was hoping that she would be back on the board actively after the radiation. My heartfelt condolences to her husband and the family.

Diagnosed in Sept 2004 while pregnant with the second child. Stage 3b, tumor 4.5cm, 4 auxillary and supraclav node positive. Her2+++ FISH 9.4 and er-,pr-.
Had dose dense neoadjuvant AC,Taxol then mastectomy,radiation+xeloda+Herceptin.

I am so deeply sorry to hear this. She will be missed greatly. What a wonderful man she had in her husband, everyone should be so blessed. We've lost so many of our wonderful sisters lately, my heart goes out to all of their familes.

Diagnosed June, 06, Stage I, Grade3, ER+PR- Her2positive, No Nodes. A/C X 4. Radiation 33 with boost, Herceptin every two weeks until Nov.
07, Arimedex for 5 years. Mugas and Echo and chest xRay. Bone scan of whole Body, and Back of Brain and spine MRI.
CT scan of Lungs every six months
due to two small places. December
2009, bone scan due to bone pain.
Follow up test in 2010.

Diagnosed stage 2b in July 2003 (2.3 cm, HER2+, ER-/PR-, 7+ nodes). Treated with mastectomy (with immediate DIEP flap reconstruction), AC + T/Herceptin (off label). Cancer advanced to lung in Jan. 2007 (1 cm nodule). Started Herceptin every 3 weeks. Lung wedge resection April 2007. Cancer recurred in lung April 2008. RFA of lung in August 2008. 2nd annual brain MRI in Oct. 2008 discovered 2.6 cm cystic tumor in left frontal lobe. Craniotomy Oct. 2008 (ER-/PR-/HER2-) followed by targeted radiation (IMRT). Coughing up blood Feb. 2009. Thoractomy July 2009 to cut out fungal ball of common soil fungus (aspergillus) that grew in the RFA cavity (most likely inhaled while gardening). No cancer, only fungus. Removal of tiny melanoma from upper left arm, plus sentinel lymph node biopsy in Feb. 2016. Guardant Health liquid biopsy in Feb. 2016 showed mutations in 4 subtypes of TP53. Repeat of Guardant Health biopsy in Jana. 2021 showed 3 TP53 mutations, BRCA1 mutation and CHEK2 mutation. Invitae genetic testing showed negative for all of these. Living with MBC since 2007. Stopped Herceptin Hylecta (injection) treatment in March 2020. Recent 2021 annual CT of chest, abdomen and pelvis and annual brain MRI showed NED. Praying for NED forever!!

Thinking of Lolly!
I am in complete shock. I didn't realize she was this sick. Her posts were uplifting and gave me hope when I first joined this group four years ago. I send my sincere condolences to her family. I am so sad that another member has earned her wings.

Started weekly taxol
Jan 2002 found out I was strongly HER2POS+++ started herceptin continued with taxol and herceptin till June 2002 then from June 2002 till Jan 2005 just herceptin and Arimidex
2005 Navelbine herceptin had RFA Then back on taxol with herceptin
April 2006 progression again went on clinical trial with tykrerb/herceptin progressed on the started Xeloda/ herceptin
Feb 2007 started Doxil
August 2007 Taxotere,Carboplatin and Herceptin exstensive mets to liver and pancreas
October 2007 Had to stop Carboplatin due to sever allergic reaction
Jan 2008
Stopped Taxotere due to progression now on Gemzar and Herceptin
March 2008 Starting Carboplatin, Abraxane, and Herceptin.

I am also in shock, I also did not realize how ill Lolly was. She was a great inspiration to me and I am sure many others here on the Her2 site.

I am so saddened by losing Lolly! My prayers are with her amazing husband and family. How lucky she was to have such love in her life. She was always, unfailingly a beacon of positive sunshine in her posts.
That's it - NO ONE ELSE IS ALLOWED TO LEAVE! We have enough amazing angels helping us now - that's it! I mean it, don't anyone else leave - EVER!
I am in shock, this is just too many....too much.

May '08 ca 15-3 is 55. Treatment is zometa, vinorelbine, herceptin and aromasin.
No signifcant changes.
Feb'09 Started Xeloda with herceptin..no more hormonals
Feb'09-June'09 tumor markers coming down again from 155 to 84
May'09 blood clots in lungs vena cava filter put in..Heparin shots daily for now.

Prolia every 6 months for osteopenia

I am just stunned, and crying. I, like others, had no idea Lolly was so ill. My prayers will go out to her and her wonderful husband and family. Lolly was such a sweetheart. She will be missed.

ER+ (30%) /PR+ (50%), HER2+++
AC X 4 dose dense, Taxol X 4 dose dense
Herceptin started with 2nd Taxol, given weekly until chemo done
then given every 3 weeks for one year ending on March 16, 2007
Radiation 30 treatments
Tamoxifen - 2 yrs (pre-menopausal)
May 2008 - Feb 2012 Femara
Aug 2008 - Feb 2012 Zometa every 6 months
March 2012 - Stop Femara, now Evista for bone strengthening
