DES (diethylstilbestrol) Case Won in Boston!!

Hi Ladies,

I wanted to spread this news around about DES, the synthetic estrogen used in the late 1930's to about 1971. It was given to millions of pregnant women, especially women who had a history of miscarriages. Sadly the drug didn't prevent miscarriages and the drug companies knew that. The FDA had DES removed from animal feed in 1954, but it was still given to humans until 1971. It has caused a host of related diseases.

The litigation that was just won in Boston concerned a link between DES and development of breast cancer, especially in women over the age of 40. That is what happened to me. My mother took DES in the first 3 months while pregnant with me. Studies by several researchers, such as the National Cancer Institute, CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and WHO (World Health Org) have now updated their info to show that DES is linked to breast cancer. At 40, the risk doubles if DES exposed; at 60 it triples.

If you think your mother took DES while pregnant with you you can contact DES Action or attorney Aaron Levine in Washington, DC. They are taking cases. You don't necessarily have to have medical records (it helps). A doctor skilled in DES can perform exams to determine if you have been exposed.

Of note, women who have been DES exposed should avoid any form of HRT.

If you would like more info please email or PM me, I would be happy to help you.

Dianne

There is now a link between DES exposure in utero and breast cancer!
