Alice, I believe that we go stage by size of tumor (more heavily rather than number of positive nodes) -- BUT I'm no doctor! Here goes: Since yours was about 7-8cm, it could possibly indicate either stage 3A or 3B. Difference between stage 3A & 3B is cancerous nodes attached to chest wall for 3B. Correct me if I'm wrong!

so, it would be 3A - lots of nodes with penetrated capsulas but not fixed to the chestwall as far as I know....
