Question sternum pain

don't know how long it's been since i noticed the lump on my sternum and went to see my rad onc about it. he sent me for a ct and said that it was just a rib seperated from sternum for some reason and the lump is just where it was trying to heal. well now that lump is even bigger and more painful than it was and i've got several other small ones now. i don't go to see onc till august but go see pcp in a week and a half. herdoes know about the last time so do you think he could make a decision on this or should i call onc or rad onc?

I'd be calling my onc immediately. Best wishes to you. Try not to think the worst, but don't ignore it, either. Let us know how it's going.

Juanita, I would ck with your oncologist. I have had doubts with myself in the past with other questionable areas, and I needed multiple opinions to confirm in my mind that all was good.

Keep following up on it until you feel in your gut that all is good.

saw the rad onc today and had another ct scan on it. i rebroke the rib there at the sternum. he says i need to take it easy. probably carrying both grandbabies and the stuff i do at work doesn't help.

Juanita,

Soooo very glad to hear it was only a broken rib! Isn't it funny that we should see it that way! If I told you to take it easy, I'd be the pot calling the kettle black, so I'll refrain.

Glad to hear you "good" news - I do have friends that would be cryin' but they don't understand.

More importantly, take care of yourself so it heals up soon!
