Eligibility to US clinical trials

Hi all,

First of all let me congratulate you all for being so proactive, definitly an american approach which is why more of you survive from cancer than we do in the UK. Most of you are living in the US, I am living in the UK. I am not quite sure what the ruling are regarding trials. I wish to take part (despite the required travelling) to the vaccination trials at UW. A few of you seems to have taken part, do you know if it is restricted to the US? (I wrote a email to them few days ago and have had no reply, getting impatient..)

Many thanks

not sure but

Hi, I'm not sure about your question, but when I look up studies and eligibility criteria I don't remember anything about citizenship. Maybe just picking a study in which you are interested and contacting the researchers themselves by phone or e-mail might help. Or looking through the posts on this site of those in the UW vaccine trials and contacting them via e-mail to see if they can facilitate the process. Good luck

Hey I wanted to mention that I love your profile in courage. We have very similar beginnings to our journies with this dumb disease and I'm so happy that you advocated, researched, traveled and got what you wanted AND you are doing so well. I so wish I had known what to do a number of years ago. Anyway I found your post inspirational. Please keep posting and welcome.

I have had a reply..

They are currently checking my eligibility, yes you are right they seem efficient. Thanks for your replies and tips.

Joy thank you for your encouragement, you are doing very well yourself it seems with the several round of chemo you had, well done. Hang on in there there are lots of good stuff in the pipeline as you know (eg: 31 anti angiogenic substances being currently investigated past phase 2). Also I was wondering if you have considered local treatment for your liver such as chemoembolisation or tehse new Si phere radiation or something, just a thought. I could continue my systemic treatment in parallele with my chemo-embolisation, side effect were minimal for me.

Below a good link for all of you:

Hope it helps
