Latest research on Omega 3. TanyaRD, need your view please

Hi TanyaRD

I came across following thread where it says Omega 3 in a recent research has been shown to be possibly harmful to BC patients? I would be grateful for your views on this as I'm sure lots of women, like me, on this board take omega 3 supplements. I use olive oil in my daily cooking and love salmon sashimi

Thanks vm

Re: Latest research on Omega 3. TanyaRD, need your view please

Hi Cheery,
I don't feel we can draw a firm conclusion from this study along. There are many studies that state otherwise re: omega 3s. Nutrition research is difficult because there are so many variables making it difficult to confirm an association.

We know including fish in the diet reduced saturated fat which is known to increase risk of breast cancer and olive oil is high in the heart protective monounsaturated fats.

I recommend continuing to follow the research but continue your healthy diet including fish.

Thanks for your prompt reply!

I guess I'll cut down on my omega-3 supplements to alternate days but continue with the olive oil and salmon.

cheers
