Re: how long recovery?

Hi Valleygirl,

I am actually about 4 days out of the second phase surgery from my diep flap surgery so phase 1 is still very clear in my head. It took me about 4 weeks to fully stand up straight and get around easily. I do remember the pain and how hard it was having to sleep sitting down and not stand up straight but know it will get easier. I found that walking on the treadmill at the lowest speed was very helpful in getting back to myself. Do you still have your drains? If so once those are removed you may feel more relief. I know it was a big difference for me. Just a note staying on top of your pain meds is really important and will make a world of difference.
If you have any questions please feel free to message me.

Re: how long recovery?

Hi Linn65,

I had both phase 2 & 3 at the same time as well. Its been 5 days since my surgery and I am feeling pretty good. I haven't needed any pain meds since day 3 and am able to move around fairly normally, just slowly. :-) The surgery was not bad and certainly nothing like the first one. Not to much pain, really more of a sore feeling from the lipo they did. They took from both my sides and my thighs which left me with huge bruises and tiny stitches in the areas the wand entered. Those stitches are in areas that made it hard to sit so that was a little tough. I didn't think to ask my doc where those would be. My doc touched up my tummy scars and the dog ears (I think that is what they call them) all in which are not very painful at all. The breast area really doesn't have a lot of feeling so that doesn't hurt at all. I think its more of a pain keeping the bandages where they need to be. I am going to be out of work for 2 weeks so hoping I get to moving a little faster soon.
I am sure you will do just fine. If you made it through Phase 1, phase 2 & 3 are a walk in the park. :-) Good Luck!!
