Here we go again or not

I was diagnosed in March of 2011 with stage IIB HER2+ er/pr- breast cancer. I finished Herceptin in August of 2012. For about the past week and 1/2 I've been getting a pain in my shoulder blade when I stand up straight or lean backwards that extends to my ribs on my right side. I am so afraid this might be liver mets. It feels more like a muscle pull but it's so close to where the liver might be I don't know. I have my oncologist appt for 4 month checkup next Thurs. Just wondering if I should call up and make it earlier or just wait until then. My oncologist does not do the marker tests or has not done any scans since 3/2012 when my liver counts were high and she did an ultrasound of the liver and a bone scan which came up negative. I have 2 teenagers and 2 older daughters and a husband. My husbands first wife died of brain cancer I don't need for him to go through that again. I just pray this isn't mets. I don't know what to do.

Re: Here we go again or not

This is exactly what we cancer patients are experiencing everyday! Is it or is it not?

The location you've described doesn't correspond to the location of the liver. Perhaps it's the muscle/ribs adjusting to the tissue expander/implants...?

Be sure to let your doctor know about it when you see him/her next Thursday. If it really bothers you, give them a call and see if your appointment can be moved up.

Take some deep breaths when you feel the anxiety... I'll be praying for a good checkup/report.
