DON'T let her down, please!

Could not resist this. How many little girls do you see and think "I hope they never have to go through what I have with this d*mn disease"?

My trip to the local Safeway was an eye opener this afternoon. I know they are having a big barbeque cookoff on Sat to raise money for Komen.

The young man checking my line, was enthusiastically wheedling a donation from everyone in front of me. When he processed a donation he would ring a bell and give a hooray. He told me that last year in the month of October they raised a bit over $30,000 for breast cancer research. Of course they are trying to top that this year. Break it out - that is ONE THOUSAND dollars a day!

Some generous neighbors I have!

My local Vons was ringing the bell and collecting money while I was shopping there the other day. They also raised thousands of dollars last year. I thanked one of the clerks and told her about my diagnosis and Herceptin and how grateful I am for the funds raised.
