Re: Prayers For Sheila

Again, thank you all so much for the support, love and prayers, there is no doubt in my mind that is why I am still here to type this. Got home late yesterday. The only diagnosis the specialists can come up with was a pneumonia and flash pulmonary edema, a rare occurence from a sudden spike in B/P. As I am piecing more together, I evidently collapsed and quit breathing after feeling like my lungs filled with fluid, and was bagged until the ER when they placed me on a ventilator. Since I am not a fan of vents or helicopters, glad I do not remember anything...I do remember the scary feeling of not being able to breathe as my lungs rapidly filled, and nothing after that. Thank heavens for the Diprovan, which I of course called the Michael Jackson drug they gave me. Go back to see the oncologist next Tuesday, to see if I will stay on the Halaven...i have missed 3 now and my neck is showing it. On an up note, my white counts have recovered quite nicely. Ordered to now keep low key for a while, and hope to get my sea legs back....I feel like I have been drug through a knot hole....so thankful again for all your prayers and support, that is why you are all part of my Her2 FAMILY!, and it is a FAMILY!
Much Love
Sheila

Re: Prayers For Sheila

Great to hear you bounced back! Keep bouncing back, but please remember you don't have to prove anything to us. So enough already with the heroics! You scared us with tales of helicopters and ventilators.

Keep getting better & may the Halaven work it's miracle once more.

Love

Wow! what a story to read....a cliffhanger really! Those doctors that thought you wouldn't make it just simply don't know you - a tough fighter who has been at it a long, long time! So grateful this story has a good ending and will continue! Keep going Sheila! And thank you Jen for your posts, that was a wonderful thing you did!

Re: Prayers For Sheila

Sometimes I am afraid to check in on the forum for fear of finding out something too sad. However, if I don't check in from time to time I also miss the wonderful postings as well. Sheila, no more scares please. You are way too important to all of us here and mean so much to all of your sisters here. Please get stronger with each day and fight with all I know you possess. You are one of the strongest and most positive person I have had the pleasure of meeting. Get well quick so we can finally get back to lunching again, been too long. You are in my prayers. Thanks Jen for doing such a great job at keeping everyone up to date but so sorry you had to do so. Sheila we are all rooting for you and I know you are going to bounce back in record time.
