Another In the Family - And Another

I have learned today that my sister-in-law is also diagnosed with breast cancer. She has only minimal details so far - Stage 3, 1.8 (cm I believe). She is waiting for further information. She lives in another city here in Alberta, Canada.

This same week we learned that my husband's 88 year old birth mom has liver and pancreatic cancer, with only six months to live - surgery planned at the end of October, but the doctors may decide she is too weak for that. Sigh. She says she wants that surgery, and to at least go out fighting. What a wonderful woman she is.

Does it seem to others that sometimes bad things just happen in "runs of bad news"?

4 months after I was diagnosed my mom was also diagnosed so I understand.
