Just wondering if this has any correlation to mets? I had a node dissection, 0/16 were positive, but mets 1 1/2 years later.

I had sentinal node biopsy, my surgeon ended up taking 5 nodes, all were positive. I was Stage 3b, and had recurrence 6 months after finishing treatment.

I was stage 1, and had a sentinel node biopsy. They took 2 nodes, both negative. I had mets 18 months later, after lumpectomy and radiation, adriamycin and cytoxin.

This post has been nagging me, and now I know why. Cancer is not only spread through the lymph nodes, but also through the bloodstream. Even with chemo, we can't be sure all the cancer is gone...I find having all nodes negative (0/19)not that reassuring.
