Why is it taking so long to get the fish test?

I don't know. We met the onc yesterday and he still didn't have the results and said that it sometimes takes weeks. Since he's decided against giving any herceptin with the Taxol (since she's on a dose dense regimen) and radiation (since left side of chest), I haven't pressed.

Eric,
I hate to jump in this "guys" area, but I don't understand that if you don't have the FISH test back (and you should by now), why he's decided against Herceptin?

Love and light,

Lisa (Wife of Mel, who may join you soon)

He only decided against taking the herceptin concurrent with dose dense taxol and after 4 dose dense AC's. His feeling is that since there have been no studies guaging the herceptin use with adjuvant chemo in dose dense for early bc, it's too big a risk. His favorite statement is "in Oncology the obvious isn't always obvious". I wonder often what's best, and I hope and pray that the regimen he's put her on works. He was quick to agree to the dose dense, so we're trusting his judgement (for now).
