Wink Jolly Rancher TINI - for weird drink lovers!

Happy holidays everyone! Here is a little something to cheer you up if the Eggnog is too calorie laden. You know who you are:

Jolly Tini Recipe

Ingredients:

4 ounces Finlandia vodka infused with apple-flavored Jolly Ranchers*
¾ ounce fresh sweet-and-sour mix
1 maraschino cherry for garnish

*To infuse vodka, place 18 Jolly Ranchers in a 750-ml bottle of vodka. Let stand until the candies dissolve, about 24 hours, rotating the bottle 2 to 3 times.

Directions:

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add infused vodka and sweet-and-sour mix. Stir vigorously and strain into a big martini glass.

Add a sprig of holly for the festive touch. Careful how you sip!

Re: Jolly Rancher TINI - for weird drink lovers!

This post is for Steph who is a real sweety by anyone's standards and shouldn't be left ignored.

Jolly Ranchers are the bomb! I don't drink anymore but if I did, I'd make three of Jolly Rancher-tinis. Two for me and Colleen and one to sneak at night when everyone else is asleep.

Or I could just go to the 7-11 and get 2 bags of Jolly Ranchers, leave one for the kids (vultures) and hide the rest for me and Colleen. I would hide it in the bunny bowl but I am almost due for my monthly bowl of cereal, although Jolly Rancher Trix would be so awesome we would need to import some awesome from Canada.

Or smuggle it in.

Re: Jolly Rancher TINI - for weird drink lovers!

Kinda reminds me when they banned drinking at the beach while I was in college.

1. Purchase a full size watermelon.
2. Carefully cut a 1 1/2" square plug.
3. Remove plug
4. Open vodka, rum, gin or any liquor.
5. Invert bottle into watermelon, let sit overnight.
6. In the AM remove bottle, mix any remainig liquor with
Weaties, eat for breakfast, bring watermelon to beach.

Lee etc.
Canada is full of awesome. Just let me know how much you need and
I'll find a way to get it across the border. Maybe I'll send it to grandma
in Nelson and she can put it in with the Christmas presents she's sending
you and Bill.

I'm all for Consumers without Borders .... sign me up. I keep thinking of the
extreme measures that were taken by those unnamed people (Sheila and DonnaD) to get that box of spray cheese over the border ....

Wink Re: Jolly Rancher TINI - for weird drink lovers!

Hi Pinkie -
Sorry I have been off buying wrap, cards and stuff for holidays 2010 on 1/2 price sale.

Here is a pretty standard version:

Definition: Sweet and sour mix is a commonly used mixer made of sugar and lemon and/or lime juices. Pre-mixed sweet and sour can be found in almost anywhere spirits are sold or it can easily be made from scratch.
To make sweet and sour mix:
Method 1:
Combine 1 cup sugar with 1 cup water until sugar is completely dissolved. Add 1 cup fresh lime juice and 1 cup fresh lemon juice and refrigerate. Method 2:
Mix 1 part sugar syrup with 1 part lemon juice. Optionally, add 2 egg whites for every liter of mix to make cocktails slightly foamy.

Also Known As:
  • Bar Mix
  • Sour Mix
  • Sweet & Sour Mix
