TDM1 and my recent scan

Hi All,
I have been on TDM1 since Dec 2010 and I had my second scan recently which showed some progression. It resolved completely the mediastinal nodes but two lung nodules grew in size from 9mm to 1.1cm and from 0.8 mm to 1.1cm. Also there is a new internal mammary node of 1.4cm, I really think this is due to the inflamation I have at my chest area due to a compressed nerve.
I might be taken out of the EAP study. But I just don't want to loose this option so quickly. Any of you have any experience with this kind of situation and still they allowed to continue the trial?
My her2serum seems to be going down or stable when compared to the first scan while on TDM1.
I already tried Navelbine and Herceptin and Tykerb, Herceptin.

Thanks,
Julie

Re: TDM1 and my recent scan

Hi Julie,
First, maybe I'm reading this wrong, but how can they measure growth that small? I mean .2 mm? Really? Or are we talking .2 cm which would be 2 mm and still not a lot of progression. Remember this is all a computer generated reconstruction of a computer generated image. I don't know what type of scan you are getting, but if say it was a CT scan with 5mm or even 2 mm slices, the difference could even be they picked up a slightly different view.

You might be able to make a play for rescanning sooner than they would, to confirm that this is indeed progression, given that the serum Her2 is stable/down and you have questions on what the mammary node represents.
